So what exactly is a Gua Sha Facial?
So if you haven’t heard of Gua Sha facials then you are seriously missing out. It is a traditional Chinese practice of massaging the face to help with aging, puffiness, inflammation, contouring, increasing circulation, dark circles under the eyes, just to name a few of its benefits. It basically allows the skin to function better. While performing the facial massage, you will push the fluids built up in the face out towards the lymph nodes.
Gua sha (pronounced gwa-shah) is a great tool from Ancient Chinese Medication used thousands of years ago to help heal the body and fight the aging process.
Before you start
One of the most important steps to doing a Gua Sha facial is to always use a good oil or serum so you get smooth motions and don’t pull the skin too hard. Another rule of thumb in scraping is going in the correct directions. Always move upwards and outwards on the face because moving back and forth may cause unwanted pulling. After using this tool a couple of times I noticed a huge difference in the overall appearance of my skin. The puffiness was completly gone. It is now a must in my skincare routine.
