Things to See and Do

First stop on your trip needs to be to the Southernmost point, which is one of the most iconic spots and probably the most visited. It is an anchored buoy that marks one of the extreme points in North America. It is probably best to get their early to avoid the lines and beat the heat.

For any history buff or lover of reading you must check out the Ernest Hemmingway house. He of course was a literary genius and a very well-known person in the city of Key West. He owned the property until his death in 1961. Today it is listed as a U.S National Historic Landmark and the museum is home to a crew of cats that live on the property. So, if you are allergic, better take your allergy meds before visiting.

  • Location: 907 Whitehead Street, Key West, Florida

Key West Christmas Tree

Check out The Key West Tropical Garden, which is the only frost-free, natural conservation habitat, botanical garden in the continental United States. Beautiful native plants and rare, fresh water ponds are must see.
