Recently we have been hearing a lot about a certain diet used by many in Hollywood and around the world. The Sirtfood diet has taken the world by storm so we wanted to find out a little more about it. The special foods on the diet work by activating certain proteins in the body called sirtuins. These proteins are thought to help with the aging process, boost metabolism and decrease inflammation in the body. The diet claims to help you lose 7 lbs a week while maintaining your muscle. For the first week you limit your calories to 1000 per day, drink three of the green juices made from sirtfood and eat one sirtfood meal a day. For the second week you can up your intake to 1500 calories per day, drink two of the sirtfood juices a day and eat two sirtfood meals a day.

Trendy diets come and go so I would be skeptical of doing this type of diet long term. Adele, the singer used this diet and lost a ton of weight. If you are looking for something quick, I would say it would work since you are limiting your calories each day. From what I have read, you can lose some weight quickly on this diet but ultimately, you would probably end up gaining the weight back. Adding these foods to your meals would be a good idea because of the health benefits many of them provide.
